Description:
The set includes a UV-protected rudder box made of polyamide with fiberglass reinforcement.
The rudder blade is manufactured using the special know-how high-pressure technology with simultaneous thermal shock. 
The cross-section of the Dotan rudder blade is designed based on the NACA 0009 hydrodynamic profile and has a thickness of 14 mm.
Fiberglass rudder blade has a high-quality surface and in combination with an ideal hydrodynamic profile reduces the resistance to water flow, therefore, provides the higher speed for Optimist. The rudder blade has a UV protection coating.
The kit also includes an aluminum tiller with deep anodizing, durable and light, made of a pipe with a diameter ø28 * 1,5mm. At the end of the tiller there is a cover that protects against water ingress.
The Dotan rudder is equipped with upper and lower gudgeons with pintles ø6mm.
On the rudder box there is a retaining clip for attaching the rudder to the boat (Optimist) stern.

The rudder parameters (dimensions and weight) meet the basic requirements of the new Optimist class rules. However, this rudder will not be authorized in certain competitions, those in which the IODA rules prevail, only because of the presence of the blade lifting function, even when it is deactivated by a locking pin!
