Rudder Box: Constructed of Non-Corrosive, Composite Materials
Incomparably strong and matchlessly durable, the Dotan rudder box was developed more a decade ago by Dotan Maritime Industries (after intensive, prolonged laboratory research) using non-corrosive, composite materials which make the Dotan rudder box steadier against dynamic loadings than aluminum boxes.
Inside the box, the minimalist 3-part (super-smart!) roller-lock-coulisse mechanism has been confirmed by authoritative sources (based on operational experience) to serve sailors with a minimum lifespan of 10 trouble-free years, without wear-and-tear.
Sailors can adjust the distance between the upper and lower gudgeon, thereby enabling compatibility with diverse boat transoms/sterns. The upper gudgeon slides freely along the rudder box track. Position it according to your boat's specific transom/stern dimensions and fix it in the track by screwing in the four screws supplied.

Warranty
Your Dotan rudder system comes with a 3-year limited warranty for the rudder box and with a 2-year limited warranty for the blade. The rudder box for Optimists has a 10-year limited warranty.
